5. Analysis: Trainer continuity at the SCP
21 head coach in 30 years – this number alone already indicates that continuity on the coaching bank at SC Prussia Münster has rarely been a reality. On average, a change on the sidelines occurred about every 1.4 years.
Particularly striking: Between 2000 and 2010, the club was in constant movement. Sometimes two to three trainers were responsible within one calendar year. This high fluctuation was often accompanied by sporting stagnation or financial uncertainty.
In the years after, however, a positive trend emerged: Marc Fascher,, Ralf Loose and in particular Sascha Hildmann stayed in office for significantly longer and managed to establish a sustainable sporty line. Under Hildmann, even the promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga – a sign of what can result from continuity.
A change of coach not only brings a new style, but also unrest in the team and environment. Especially in an ambitious traditional club like Prussia Münster, stability on the sidelines can be a crucial success factor – sporty and economical.
